SLJ Week 1 Activity 5

Today for our fifth summer learning journey activities we were tasked at creating a kowhaiwhai pattern on paper or digital. In my kowhaiwhai I tried to create something that had to do with family. The task at Chromebooks was really fun and I enjoyed it a lot, it was also really fun to see my partners designs, and I found it really challenging.

SLJ Week 1 Activity 1

LI:To collect materials needed to successfully complete our weekly superpower building missions with Nano Girl.

This morning room 5 worked in groups with our Year 7 and 8 students so they can help us with our first Summer Learning Journey blog posts. PBS are still at school this week so finding some of the materials we needed for our treasure hunt was easy. Our challenge is going to be able to find all the materials we need at home now. I found this activity fun because it fun looking around my house for things I needed. I am looking forward to the next experiment with Nano Girl.
Do you know what it's going to make?

L.I. to experiment with colours

This morning we tried one of this year's Kick Start Summer Learning Journey activities. The purpose of this task was to experiment with colours by mixing colours from the original pallet with pop colours, This allowed us to recolour famous paintings or images of famous landmarks around the world. I liked this activity because it's all about colour and arts. This art is call Under the Wave of Kanagawa.

Look Down!

The two boys could feel space above the plane. Once there were two boys. They were at the airport. When they were asleep, someone put magnets inside them. When they woke up they found themselves on a flying aeroplane.

The man inside looked out of the window and saw two boys the man ran to the pilot and said “There are two boys outside the plane and they can’t move.’’ but the pilot ignored the man. After a while the two boys saw something on the ground. It was a Great White Shark and that great white shark was very hungry.

The pilot had to avoid the birds so he flew around and around. One of the boys slipped off the wing and the other boy grabbed his arm and pulled him up, but the plane kept on spinning. The boy fell down into the water and the great white shark chased the boy. Suddenly a dolphin came to protect the boy.

The other boy jumped down and went to the dolphin. The dolphin and the great white shark attacked and the dolphin won. The two boys went to shore and they were very happy that the dolphin saved them.

Here is my narrative. Can you tell what the problem and solution are?

An analogy compares two things. In our example it compares a relationship between two objects and we can think of match for the other object.
