I think I need to be on a harder level because I finished this in 3 minutes 21 seconds.
Did you know that there are 3 similar simple machines?
They are wheel and axle, pulley, and screw. The 3 similar simple machines help us do work quickly.
We did reciprocal reading on a PDF called what we ate.
The five roles are leader, predictor, clarifier, questioner and summariser. The PDF is about what soldiers ate during the war. They ate: bully beef, jam, canned fruit and vegetables, lack of vitamin c, hard biscuits and water.
Step 1: Get a calendar.
Step 2: Circle the date.
Step 3: Write the day.
Step 4: Write the date that you circled.
Step 5: Write the month.
Step 6: Wirte the year.
Today I learnt how to balance by using sport equipment. We had five stations with a different sport equipment.
First I went to my first station which was hockey. I had to balance while hitting the ball. I figured out that my right leg was easier while balancing and left leg was harder. This challenge was easy. I don't need to work on my balance.
Then I went to the next station which was the frizbee. This was hard because I had to stand on one leg while passing across the body.
I learnt the Maori directions that can help me in the classroom.
First we did an activity, we had to label 10 kitchen items in maori I thought of microwave, oven, and knife.

I enjoyed this task because it help me pronouce the kitchen labels.
This week we did reciprocal reading to read the text "Maori Pioneer Battalion".
In reciprocal reading there is a Leader, Predictor, Clarifier, Questioner, and a Summariser.
The Leader has to assign the roles to the group and introduced the author and the text.
The Predictor has to tell what is going to happen next.
The Clarifier has identify tricky words and phrases.
The Questioner ask questions about why it happened
The Summariser thinks about the main ideas in the section we have read.
I enjoyed doing reciprocal reading, my favourite role is the clarifier because I can identify the words.
The three similar simple machines are the incline plane, lever, and wedge. Simple Machines help people to do work easily and quickly.

Comment thread is making a conversation with another person. Hector commented on my blog it was about cause and effect. If you did this activity again then would you add another cause and effect? Comment threads help with our learning so we learn to ask questions when people reply back that also helps us learn more.

In groups we had to solve time problems.
First we had to solve the anwser.
Next we explained how we work the anwser out.
Lastly we discussed our results with Mr Ogilvie and the class.
I think this is easy because I already know about time.
We found 6 simple machines in our school.
These are the 6 simple machines.
1. Incline plane
2. Wedge
3. Lever
4. Wheel and Axle
5. Pulley
6. Screw.
Cause and effect is the relationship between two things when one thing makes something else happen.
Cause is something that made it happen.
Effect is something that got effected by the cause.
Casaul language is something that makes a cause and effect make sense. For example it was cold outdoors therefore they had to stay inside.
Cause and effect help build an understanding for the mechanisms we are explainaing.
We took photo of balancing in our enviroment.
The first photo we took was balancing on a concrete.
The second photo we took on the playground equipment.
The third photo we took on the playground equipment but with an assistance.

Lastly I combined the two number and I get 4 hours and 35 minutes.
I think I need to practise some more because I was struggling on the last one.
I complete a can-do task called basic facts boxes.
I got 100/100 in 4 minutes 30 seconds.
I think I need to be on a harder level.
I read 20 pages of The Apollo 13 Mission.
I learnt that Apollo 13 had a hard time going to the moon and coming back to earth and the disaster start when a wire set off an explosion. I learnt that Lovell was the world most traveled astronaunt. He had spent a total of 572 hours.

Next, I wrote my mechanisms. Working out - To be fit you need to work out by using exercising equipment. Use exercising equipment like the treadmill and a upright bike. Eating Right - To be fit you need to eat healthy food not fast food. Eating right is eating healthy food like vegetables and fruits. Resting - To be fit you need to rest because if you don’t rest you might get cancer. To be fit you need to rest so your body can recover.
Group B did range of learning activity with our body movement.
First Mr Ogilvie talked with us what balancing was. I try to balence in different ways while my partner push me.
Next we had to cross the balancing beam without touching the floor. 2 person from each side had to pass the beam at the same time.
Lastly we had to balance on a soccer ball. We balanced on the ball and 2 people held on each side to start to make sure we were balanced.
I learnt that while looking down it is easier to balance than looking up.
Simple machines are tool to make work easier.
There are six kinds of simple machines:
1. Inclined plane
2. Lever
3. Pulley
4. Wheel and axle
5. Screw
6. Wedge
I learnt classroom question that will help me in the classroom.
First I learnt what kua marama which means do you understand.
Next I practice the question kua mutu which means finished?
Lastly I learnt the classroom questions that the teacher might ask me.
I think I need to pratice my questions more.
